When bees visit flowers to collect nectar, they also carry powdery pollen from one blossom to another. This pollination helps plants make fruits and seeds, such as apples, blueberries, and pumpkins. Farmers depend on bees so their crops can grow well. One bee can visit hundreds of flowers in a single day, spreading pollen with each trip. Because of bees, supermarket shelves have many kinds of produce. Bees also make honey in their hives, which is food for them and a treat for people. Without enough bees, many plants would not grow strong, and there would be less food for animals and people.

Recycling means turning used materials into new products instead of throwing them away. When we recycle paper, fewer trees have to be cut down. Recycling metal and glass saves energy because factories do not need to make everything from raw materials. Putting plastic bottles, cans, and newspapers in the correct bins keeps trash out of landfills and oceans. At a recycling center, machines sort and clean items so they can be made into new things, like park benches or cereal boxes. By recycling at home and school, families reduce waste, conserve resources, and help keep the planet clean.
